Rigor Mortis’s last release was Slaves To The Grave in 2014. Rigor Mortis hailed from Dallas, TX, and formed in. 2014 In 1987, (shockingly) they got signed to Capitol Records, but where are they now? Unfortunately, their story is a sad one.
Capitol Record claims that signing Rigor Mortis was “a tax write-off.” Hence, the label never promoted the album.
Mike Scaccia went to play guitar in Ministry. He performed on their most commercially successful album, Psalm 69.
Casey Orr was Beefcake in GWAR for over a decade. He has since quit and lives in Dallas, TX.
Vocalist Doyle Bright briefly replaced Bruce Corbitt, and then the band split up for over a decade.
Bruce Corbit formed Warbeast, who put out 3 full-length albums
In 2011, the band reformed with the original lineup (minus Harden Harrison) and began working on a new album.
Before the album could even be released, Mike Scaccia died while performing from a heart attack.

Hollows Eve was a thrash metal band from Atlanta, Georgia. They first became known for the “Metal Merchants” song on Metal Massacre. Their debut, “Tales Of Terror” on Metal Blade, gained them a cult following. The follow-up albums, Death and Insanity and Monument, were solid thrash albums (in my opinion) but failed to give the band any traction. “Monument” is now out of print.
Hallows Eve: Another Great Metal Band That Never Went Big – What Happened To Them?
How did that happen?
Some Hallows Eve Facts You Might Not Know
On the Tales of Terror album, the band was a five-piece, with t with two guitar players one being Steve “Skullator” Shoemaker.
Skullator left the band after the Tales of Terroralbum because of creative differences. He was more into black metal.
The last live appearance monument era Hollow’s Eve ever made was for The Skullator’s benefit. In 1991 Steven was shot in a robbery attempt in Atlanta. Though struck in the head, Steven lived and now wears an eye patch.
Stacy Anderson performed in a band called DIN post-hollows Eve. He now owns a stump removal service in the Atlanta area.
Guitarist “David Stewart” is a successful photographer in the Atlanta area. Post Hollows Eve Post, he was in a band with two rappers named Urban Grind.
Tommy Stewart drives a taxi (Uber) in the Atlanta area.
Police briefly investigated Tommy Stewart after the death of his wife. No charges were ever filed.
Hallows Eve tried to reform with Ex-Rigot Mortis vocalist Doyle Bright. They announced a “comeback”, but nothing ever happened.
Steve “Skullator” Shoemaker was the only one who stayed active in music. He put together a black metal band called Wormreich. Tragedy struck again — returning to Atlanta after their first tour, the van driver fell asleep, causing the van to swerve off the road, killing two and injuring 12. Stephen was critically wounded. Like fellow musician Jeff Becerra, he is confined to a wheelchair.
James Murphy played guitar in Hallows Eve briefly. He initially turned down Chuck’s offer to join Death, but was talked into accepting it by David Stuart.
Metal Blade has reissued most of the band’s early catalog and continues to sell to this day.
This album is frequently bootlegged. This is what the original first pressing artwork looks like.

These days there are 2 Venoms: Venom and Venom Inc: Which One Is The Real McCoy?
Venomwas formed in 1979 in Newcastle, England. 1982 they released their groundbreaking “Black Metal” album. Many credit Venom as being the first back metal band. Venom’smusic was more primitive than the fancy black metal bands of today. Their sound almost punk or like Motorhead.
While the exact details are murky. In 2003 Chronos tried to reunite the original venom line-up but was turned now.
Cronos’s real name is Conrad Thomas Lant and retains the rights to the Venom name.
Chrono’s plays fretless bass on the early Venom albums, which made the band sound even more chaotic and sloppy. This is what I call the “bathory effect“.

Cirith Ungol A Metal Band That Could Have Been Big: Why Didn’t They Remain Obscure?
Cirith Ungol was lucky and hailed Ventura, California which was home to Metal Blade Records in 1988. If you’re like me, you might remember the old days, (before the Internet) when you made decisions about what albums you were going to buy by the artwork. That is how I accidentally bought a lot of Molly Hatchet and Nazareth albums.
Whoops!
Such is the case with Cirith Ungol. Now that I listen to it, it’s actually pretty good. At the time, I only like really heavy thrash or black metal bands. Hands the recent resurgence in the popularity of this Cirith Ungol! Listen for yourself, but first for a few facts.
Cirth Ungol Where Are They Now?
The band broke up in 1992, citing frustrations with their record label.
In 2001, Metal Blade released in “Germany Servants of Chaos”, a compilation of unreleased demos and live songs.
Founding guitarist Jerry Fogle died from liver failure on August 20, 1998. RIP
Lindstrom now plays with Falcon, who perform some Cirith Ungol songs

Jason Becker Also Known For Cacophony and David Lee Roth
Jason Becker was born in Richmond, California. Perpetual Burn was released in 1988 on Shrapnel Records. Previously, Jason was best known as half of Cacophony withex-Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman.
Jason Becker plays every instrument except drums on Perpetual Burnwhich is handled by Atma Anur.
Jason Becker and Marty Friedman had a project called Cacophony. Their first album was Speed Metal Symphony.
After this solo album came out Jason would become David Lee Roth’s guitarist and played on A Little Ain’t Enough.
Type O Negative Slow, Deep, and Hard – (First Album 1991)
Type O Negative released their first album in 1991. The band is fronted by Peter Steele from Type O Negative. Slow Deep And Hard came out in 1991 on Road Runner records.
Here are some random Peter Steele facts you probably don’t know:
Slow, Deep, and Hard is a self-financed demo that was supposed to be the 3rd Carnivore album.
Roadrunner Records would not bind Peter to a 5 album deal he had signed as the songwriter for Carnivore. He was not allowed to shop Type O Negative to other labels. This is why the demo Repulsion/Carnivore became the first album.
Peter Steele worked for the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation until he was 29 and began touring with Type O in 1994.
Type O Negative’s first out-of-town show was in Atlanta, GA.A College radio show (Wreckage) paid to fly Peter up the day of the show so he wouldn’t miss work.
Peter Steele claimed that posing for Playgirl was nothing more than a publicity stunt. When bandmate Josh showed him the statistic that 74% of Playgirl readers were men, he says it is “something he regrets”.
Peter Steele wrote the lyrics on the Agnostic Front Cause For Alarm Album.

Hobbs Angel Of Death is a thrash metal band from Melbourne, Australia. The band’s self-titled debut came in 1987 on Steamhammer Records. The band broke up in 2006 and reformed in 2003.
The band is the brainchild of ex-Tyrus guitarist Peter Hobbs. This album was produced by veteran producer Harris Johns and sold well in Europe.
The follow-up album failed to garner the success of the debut, leading to the initial breakup.
HOn October 31, 2019, Peter Hobs died at his home in Queensland, where he lived after moving north from Melbourne. He was 58 years old.
