The Top 25 Most Expensive Metal CDs Of 2021 We’ve Encountered

The Top 20 Most Expensive Metal CDs Of 2021

This article is a continuation of my 2020 blog post detailing the most expensive metal CDs we have first-hand experience with from buying many heavy metal CDs. For the 2021 update, I have expanded the list to 25 because we’ve grown considerably as a business. The values assigned to each are based on amounts we have sold them for and are not an aggregate. All CDS from the 2020 blog post have also been excluded from this list, but you can view the archive here.

New update – see the 2023 list of most expensive CDs here.

1. Krabathor – Cool Mortification CD 1993 Monitor – 010174-2331 Czech Republic

Krabathor – Cool Mortification CD 1993 Monitor – 010174-2331 (Czech Republic) – This CD is rare and HEAVILY counterfeited — there are very few real ones floating around. Some counterfeits even mimic the runout matrix, but it is fake if the ring does not look exactly like this.

What Happened To Marianne Gravatte? (The Hottie From Ratt’s “Invasion of Your Privacy”)

Marianne Gravatte 2019

Ever Wonder What The Hot Girl from Ratt’s Invasion Of Your Privacy Looks Like In 2019?

Please don’t worry about anything else. Before anyone gets offended, the last thing I would ever fault someone for is getting older. It will happen to all of us. I can’t be the only person who has wondered who that girl is or what she looks like today. Thanks to google images, it’s pretty easy to find out.

Black Sabbath – Technical Ecstasy Last Album With Ozzy Osborne Vocals

black sabbath band photo 1978

Black Sabbath’s – Technical Ecstasy was the last studio album with Ozzy Osborne. It is not a fan favorite but does contain the track “Dirty Women” which was included in Black Sabbath live sets all the way till the end of their career.

The album received mixed reviews from critics but was a commercial success, peaking at number 13 on the UK Albums Chart and number 51 on the US Billboard 200 Album chart, later being certified Gold by the RIAA in 1997.

In 1992, Iommi admitted to Guitar World: “Black Sabbath fans generally don’t like much of Technical Ecstasy. It was really a no-win situation for us. If we had stayed the same, people would have said we were still doing the same old stuff. So we tried to get a little more technical, and it just didn’t work out very well.”

CIRITH UNGOL “ONE FOOT IN HELL” – Awesome Album Covers Don’t Make You The Next Iron Maiden!

MBR 1062 Cirith Ungle One Foot In Hell

Cirith Ungol A Metal Band That Could Have Been Big: Why Didn’t They Remain Obscure?

Cirith Ungol was lucky and hailed Ventura, California which was home to Metal Blade Records in 1988. If you’re like me, you might remember the old days, (before the Internet) when you made decisions about what albums you were going to buy by the artwork. That is how I accidentally bought a lot of Molly Hatchet and Nazareth albums.

Whoops!

Such is the case with Cirith Ungol. Now that I listen to it, it’s actually pretty good. At the time, I only like really heavy thrash or black metal bands. Hands the recent resurgence in the popularity of this Cirith Ungol! Listen for yourself, but first for a few facts.

Cirth Ungol Where Are They Now?

  • The band broke up in 1992, citing frustrations with their record label.
  • In 2001, Metal Blade released in “Germany Servants of Chaos”, a compilation of unreleased demos and live songs.
  • Founding guitarist Jerry Fogle died from liver failure on August 20, 1998. RIP
  • Lindstrom now plays with Falcon, who perform some Cirith Ungol songs

Grim Reaper – WHERE ARE THEY NOW? (The “See You In Hell Guys)

grim reaper metal band

GREAT BAND, BAD HAIR – WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

Grim Reaper is a super handsome heavy metal band from England that was formed in 1979. They are best known for the 1983’S “See You In Hell” album”.

Photo Cred: Metal Archives

Grim Reaper: Where Are They Now?

UPDATE: Grimmett passed away on Monday, Aug. 15 at the age of 62.

  • In a recent interview Steve Grimmett said, “We have a date of February 19, 2019 (the original date was in October 2018). We had to move the date forward because we could not deliver the album on time, nor could the record label. February 19 will gives us a little bit more time to get things done. We have recorded all the guitars and all the drums I have started the vocals; when we get back from the tour, I will be doing vocals and bass. It should be done in the next month.”
  • Guitarist Nick Bowcott is a rep for Marshall Amps.
  • Nick Bowcott spoke at Jeff Hannaman’s funeral.
  • Just having the word “hell” in an album title tied Grim Reaper up in lawsuits with their label from 1987 to 1988.
  • Steve Grimmett was in the thrash metal band Onslaught. Strangely enough, Onslaught’s first album was “Power From Hell”.
  • The band broke up in 2008.
  • The band re-formed and started work on a new studio album tentatively titled “From Hell” (not joking)
  • In 2017, after collapsing at a show from a leg infection, Steve Grimmett went into surgery. As a result, he had to have a portion of his leg amputated.
