Los Angeles, CA — July 27, 2026 — Thrash Metal IQ, the Los Angeles-based specialist in underground metal vinyl, memorabilia, and rare collectibles, has made available three of the most significant primary artifacts from the early Norwegian black metal scene ever offered publicly.

The newly listed items include:

A claimed skull fragment attributed to Per Yngve “Dead” Ohlin (Mayhem), accompanied by a detailed provenance letter linking it to Stian “Occultus” Johanssen and the period immediately following Ohlin’s death in 1991.
Five original handwritten letters by Per Yngve “Dead” Ohlin, dating from 1989–1991, featuring personal correspondence and original colored-pen artwork, with claimed provenance from the Kråkstad house and early Mayhem associates.
Two original handwritten letters exchanged between Varg Vikernes (Burzum / Count Grishnackh) and Messiah of the early Mayhem circle, bearing period signatures, runes, and stylistic hallmarks of Vikernes’ early-1990s correspondence.

These pieces represent some of the scarcest material connected to the formative years of Norwegian black metal. Original handwritten documents and personal relics linked to Dead and the Mayhem/Burzum orbit almost never appear on the open market. Each item is offered with its accompanying documentation and is presented strictly as a historical collectible.
