Extremely Rare – Skull Fragment from Dead (Per Yngve Ohlin) of Mayhem – Offered here is a small bone fragment attributed to Per Yngve “Dead” Ohlin (1969–1991), the legendary vocalist of Norwegian black metal pioneers Mayhem.

According to the accompanying provenance letter, this piece was collected from the scene of Dead’s suicide in 1991 and later obtained directly from Stian “Occultus” Johanssen (brief Mayhem member) in Norway. The letter states it was once kept in a glass container at Euronymous’ Töyengatan flat before changing hands through early scene figures. The document also references other fragments said to have gone to members of Abruptum, Marduk, and others.

This is the type of extreme, historically charged artifact that only surfaces in the deepest underground circles. For serious collectors of Mayhem, early Norwegian black metal, and true first-wave memorabilia, pieces with this level of claimed chain of custody are almost never publicly offered.

Summary from “COA” letter included with purchase:

Cranium/skull bone fragment from Per Yngve Ohlin (Dead of Mayhem, 1969–1991).
Purchased in 1991 from Stian Johanssen (Occultus), then vocalist/bassist in Mayhem.
Acquired by the writer around 2005–2006 via a friend; the writer traveled to Norway to buy it directly from Stian.
Previously kept in a small glass box at Euronymous’ flat (Töyengatan 40B, 4th floor, Norway). Euronymous reportedly dropped the original glass box and moved it to another container.
Euronymous is said to have also possessed a small piece of brain matter, which he sent to Morgan (Marduk) along with a bullet and another fragment.
The fragment is described as having been collected from the scene of Dead’s suicide.
Other pieces are claimed to have gone to: IT (Abruptum), Morgan (Marduk), Hellhammer (who later lost his), Niklas Kvarforth, and later a vocalist from Varathron (Greece).
