Collection of 950 First Press Heavy, Death, and Thrash Metal CDs

I am guilty of spending more time in these blog posts covering the crazy vinyl collections I buy, never highlighting any awesome CD collections I acquire. I am picking up nearly ten CD collections for every vinyl collection I buy, yet I rarely feature them. That all changes with this month’s blog update.

The video below features a quick tour of a collection of nearly 1,000 heavy, death, and thrash metal CDs I bought from a collector in South Carolina. While many of these CDs are pretty common stuff you see frequently, there were definitely some gems in there.

Some CDs had more scratches than I would have liked, and quite a few club/BMG discs were in there. All in all, I’m happy with this purchase. At least the seller packed the CDs really well.

Cannibal Corpse – Tomb of the Mutilated CD 1992 Metal Blade – 3984-14003-2 – This CD has ben reissued many times, but if you have the original 1992 press, it’s worth something.

Psychosomatic – Clicking Sound Of A Hammer Pulled Back CD

Psychosomatic – Clicking Sound Of A Hammer Pulled Back CD 2015 Buriedinhell – While this album is only a few years old, this new-school thrash classic sold out so quickly that the value has already skyrocketed.

Value: $50

Hallows Eve – History of Terror CD/DVD

Hallows Eve – History of Terror CD/DVD 2006 Metal Blade 3984-14565-2 [4 CD Set] – This 4 CD/DVD compilation from one of my favorite Where Are They Now? heavy metal band Hallows Eve. This Atlanta thrash metal group was one of the greatest bands that never made it.

Value: $50

Vio-Lence – Oppressing The Masses CD

Vio-Lence – Oppressing The Masses CD 1990 Atlantic – 7 82105-2 [ORIGINAL PRESS] – Vio-Lence was one of the “lucky” bands in the late 80s to get signed to a major label. Due to management problems, Vio-lence got dropped from the Atlantic. Oppressing The Masses was never reissued, and it is unavailable on streaming.

Value: $50
